250 million documents available in a single corporate archive

Danish Freight, the largest domestic logistics operator in Denmark, recently passed a staggering 250 million documents in their unified corporate archive.

Details:

Danish Freight is an association of individual logistics companies, with a great number of shared services – one of these of course is IT – a major component in today’s logistics services.

On a single server, also running the business application, MultiArchive provides as a unified corporate archive service for 25 companies, with 70 scanners, and in excess of 10.000 individual users.

By the end of January 2007 CIO Carsten Appelt, could report that a staggering 250 million documents where now available in the archive. 100 million scanned images and 150 million other documents of no less than 1200 different types.

  • 250 million documents equal a pile of paper documents 25 km tall

  • 250 million documents equal a line of paper spanning the globe almost twice

  • 250 million documents equal more than 100 truckloads of paper

A scalable solution?
- I should think so!

A profitable solution?
- I should think so!

It is not everyday that we have a customer reporting 250 million documents, and the event called for a small celebration.
