Kuehne + Nagel went looking for oil, and found gold

Logistics giant Kuehne + Nagel recently acquired  J. Martens, and got innovative 25/7 solutions as an unexpected bonus.

Details

Kuehne + Nagel is a leading global provider of integrated supply chain solutions for a comprehensive range of industries.

With more than 55,000 employees and its global network of 900 offices in more than 100 countries, Kuehne + Nagel provides: Seafreight,  Airfreight, Road & Rail Logistics, and Contract Logistics.

In order to strengthen its capabilities and position  in the international oil and gas logistics market, Kuehne + Nagel acquired Norwegian J Martens in March 2009.

Integrating the J Martens operations in Norway, Singapore, Great Britain and the Netherlands  into the global Kuehne + Nagel group is from an IT perspective primarily a question on moving people and processes to the existing group IT infrastructure.

J Martens has for several years worked together with Multi-Support Norway to optimize business processes around vital documents and information in the daily business.

The result is highly efficient solutions, including electronic document creation, archiving, distribution and workflow processing. Solutions that are vital for the business but not readily available in the Kuehne + Nagel portfolio.

For that reason Kuehne + Nagel has placed an order with Multi-Support Norway to integrate the original J. Martens solution with the ACON financial package used in all of Kuehne + Nagel.

“We see this a tribute to the innovational skills in the J Martens team, and a tribute to the quality of the 25/7 solutions we build for our customers”, says Řivind Sverdrup, Managing director of Multi-Support Norway. “And of course we welcome Kuehne + Nagel as a new customer.”
